Crash Bandicoot 4: Crates

The crates were made using a modular approach. Just a few pieces were modeled and sculpted, and then mixed in order to make every side of the crate unique.

Every crate counted with 2 UV sets. The first one was used to texture all the individual pieces. The second UV set was used to bake the AO of the whole crate once it had been assembled, to later blend it into the diffuse.

Lines in the Nitro and TNT crates were painted using the second UV set. While the "Nitro", "!", "?", "C" and other characters where placed using decals.

📦 Hey there! During my time at Toys For Bob I had the amazing opportunity of modeling and texturing some of the crates for Crash 4, those collectibles that bring so much satisfaction (and frustration 121 / 122 ) when playing Crash.
Making these crates and working alongside the rest of the team at TFB was an awesome experience and a lot of fun!
